Office Convert Word to PDF is a converter that enables the user to convert Word documents into PDF (portable document format), one of the most widely used formats for documents intended for printing. The wizard-assisted installation process poses no difficulty to the user. The interface supports some major international languages.
Although software is easy to use, the interface looks crowded with options. Hiding some of these options in dialog boxes could simplify its use. The buttons would be more self-explaining if there were some tips for them.
The software allows batch conversion as the user can add individual files or complete folders to a list. It supports various types of documents, including the most recent Word 2007/2010 document format (docx). Once the documents has been added to the list, you should push the "Convert" button to initiate the processing.
In addition, the user can select the output folder and set the file name. The format of the resulting PDF file can be set to image or text. The program also enables to modify the page settings. After conversion is finished, the program retains the layout of the original document file. It also enables printing directly from the applications as it installs a virtual printer.
Although the software is well documented, there is no offline help. Finally, the use of this type of converters may render unnecessary as recent Microsoft Office versions enable the user to save documents directly in PDF format.
